The symbiosis art festival “I am a Memory”
finished
Venue:Kyoto City Museum of Art Annex
Will our memories disappear someday? Memories within us cannot be seen by others, but when they are given some form through expression, they can be shared with others. In this way, individual experiences are externalized through a certain technique or will, and through the experience of viewing, become part of the memory of others, thus propagating the memory to many people. It is as if memory itself has a will and wishes to continue to live on, using us as its medium.
This exhibition focuses on the expression of artists with disabilities, their background experiences, and their surroundings, and examines the memory and preservation of their works. The transformation of individual memories into collective memories through expression, in which the time in which others live is a new time that is lived along with our own reality, may be a way for us to live with others, transcending time and place.
