OVERALL – Art Works by KAMEOKA Welfare Society-
finished
Venue:art space co-jin
Kameoka City sits next to the west of Kyoto City, where many ancient tombs were constructed, and it developed as a castle town when feudal warlord Mitsuhide Akechi ruled the entirety of the Tamba area; this historical area is home to the KAMEOKA Welfare Society. This exhibition introduces drawings and other such two-dimensional works created by the members of the society. Many of the creations you will see on the walls or lockers at the facility have been proactively produced by the members in the free time they were able to find between their work. Each individual’s motivations and reasons for creating their works are different and so diverse to fully explain; some do it to relax, others for the passion of self-expression, others still do it as a means of communication. The bonding between the creations produced and the surroundings are formed together into a calm atmosphere.
